learning from my teenager

My daughter is in eighth grade and everyday seems like a major event. One of the highlights of my day is picking her up and getting the typical day at middle school recap stand-up skit that has become more entertaining to me than Netflix. Seriously, no day is typical yet that’s become pretty typical – irony. But I do learn from her as well because even middle school can be filled with heartache and frustration. This month, she is working on an 8,000 word piece of fiction and has apparently made the middle school fiction writer’s leader board (it’s a thing). She has inspired me to write more and finish my thoughts. Irony.
